ABOUT THE FILM

JO (Laura Heisler) is having a bad year.  She has major writer's block, a rather dire caffeine addiction and is deeply mourning the untimely death of her beautiful wife. To top it all off, her biological alarm clock is ringing off the wall. In an attempt to address the latter issue, JO asks her late-partner's brother JAMIE (Bryan Dechart) to be her sperm donor.  Craziness ensues, in the form of a visit to the  fertility clinic's psychologist (Annie Potts), and a love triangle with her two best friends (Raoul Bhaneja and Anna Fitzwater). AS GOOD AS YOU is a serious comedy about trying to grieve the right way, and maybe growing up a bit in the process. Peter Maloney, Karis Campbell,  Reena Dutt, Elizabeth Herring, Beth Robbins, and Karen Wexler round out the ensemble.

AS GOOD AS YOU is inspired by the life of the late Beatrice Terry Lopez, and is written by her widow, Screenwriter/Executive Producer, Gretchen M. Michelfeld. Line Producer: Reena Dutt,  Director of Photography: Robert C. Webb, Production Designer: Keseh Morgan, Editor/Composer: Trevor M. Carlee, Additional Music: Melineh Kurdian. Directed by Heather de Michele

ABOUT TANKY PRODUCTIONS

Tanky Productions sprang from the loins of New York City's On the Verge Theatre Company, as one of their foremost stage successes - Sondra Stingray:  Sapphic Gumshoe - was translated to screen.  Tanky Productions went on to develop new work inspired by characters and concepts from the creators' theatrical history.  CRY FOR ME NOW, HIS AND HER HELENA and the featurette, LACUNA were the film projects that followed. Tanky's award-winning feature documentary LESBIAN PULP-O-RAMA GOES TO SWEDEN! played film festivals all over the world.  AS GOOD AS YOU is Tanky Productions' first feature film.
